1. 1. Severity Assessment

   Each affected window is assessed to determine the depth and age of the mineral deposit before any treatment is applied. Light surface scale responds differently than deeply etched calcium buildup, and applying the wrong approach to the wrong severity wastes time and can damage glass coatings. 2. 2. Test Patch

   Before treating the full window, a small inconspicuous test patch is treated and evaluated. 4. 4. Agitation & Dwell

   After application, the remover is agitated with a non-scratch scrubbing pad and allowed to dwell for the appropriate time based on deposit severity. The agitation physically breaks the mineral crystal structure away from the glass surface while the chemical component dissolves the calcium and silica compounds. Heavy buildup from years of lake spray or irrigation contact may require multiple application and agitation cycles on the same pane.

5. 5. Rinse & Re-Assess

   The treated area is rinsed thoroughly and the glass is re-assessed while still wet — most remaining deposits are visible at this stage that are harder to see when the glass dries with a clean surface film. If staining remains, the treatment cycle is repeated rather than accepted as a partial result. The customer is informed if any staining is etched below the glass surface and cannot be removed without polishing or replacement.

6. 6. Optional Protective Treatment

   Once the glass is clear, a water-repellent protective coating can be applied that causes water to bead and run off rather than dwell on the surface.
