Our Commercial Window Cleaning Process

Every job follows the same proven process — no shortcuts, no variation by location.

1. 1. Site Assessment & Scheduling Agreement

   Before the first clean, the site is assessed for window count, access points, height requirements, and any security or safety considerations. For commercial properties, scheduling is critical — the clean needs to happen during low-traffic hours to avoid disrupting customers or staff. The assessment results in a written scope and agreed service schedule, not an open-ended arrangement.

2. 2. Low-Traffic Window Scheduling

   Commercial cleans are scheduled for early morning, evening, or mid-week off-peak slots depending on the business type. A restaurant front cleaned during the lunch rush is an interruption; cleaned at 7am, it's invisible maintenance. The service schedule is confirmed with the business manager and held consistently so staff don't need to coordinate each visit.

3. 3. Debris & Frame Pre-Clean

   Frames, sills, and door surrounds are pre-cleaned of debris, insect residue, and grime before solution is applied to the glass. On storefronts, this includes the door frame channel and any transom ledges where debris accumulates unnoticed. Pre-cleaning the frame is essential on commercial glass — solution applied over a dirty frame picks up contaminants that then streak across the freshly cleaned pane.

4. 4. Professional Solution Application

   Commercial-grade window cleaning solution is applied with a wide-format applicator suited to large storefront panes. The solution is worked in firm, even strokes to ensure complete coverage without dry patches. Concentration is adjusted based on soiling level — a downtown Salmon Arm storefront near a busy street accumulates vehicle exhaust residue faster than a rural office building and may require a stronger mix.

5. 5. Squeegee & Edge Detail

   Each pane is worked with a squeegee sized for the glass — large pulls on wide storefront windows, smaller tools for divided-light sections. Every edge and corner is hand-detailed with a lint-free cloth immediately after the squeegee pass. Detail work on commercial glass matters more than residential because customers and passersby view the glass at close range and at eye level.

6. 6. Door Glass & Entry Cleaning

   Entry doors and glass door panels are cleaned last, after foot traffic during setup is no longer a factor. Door glass accumulates fingerprints, nose smudges, and push-bar grease that require specific attention — a squeegee alone does not fully remove body oils from glass. Each door pane is wiped, squeegeed, and re-inspected before moving on.

7. 7. Manager Walkthrough & Sign-Off

   At the end of each visit, the result is reviewed with the business owner or manager on-site — or photographed and sent if they're not present. This creates accountability and catches any spots that need immediate correction. For recurring contract clients, a brief note on any developing issues — frame deterioration, seal failure, staining — is included so the business can act before problems escalate.
